In THE RELATED PIECES Mutual Drip and Wax Play, I seek to discover how an everyday object used to provide warmth and light of a physical form of energy can be designed to reflect the warmth and light of queer kink, while also providing its original function.

Wax Play is the calculation of stability and safety within play. With a carefully constructed curve that does not tip but provides just enough movement for the ‘wax play’, this candle holder drips the wax down the angled sides, leaving an artful trail of wax as the person lightly rocks it. This interaction contains the excitement and carefulness, but also the calming nature of wax play. I created a cleanable and renewable object of play that acts as a reflection of messiness, beauty, and playfulness.
